Domenic’s Bistro and Wine Bar makes great seafood; you do not even need to live on the east coast to get good seafood, because Domenic’s has it.

My dad and I started off the night sitting on the patio. There were umbrellas for shade and plenty of seats for anyone who wanted to sit out there. Inside Domenic’s, there were lights hanging from the ceiling ,which gave off a good aesthetic. We were allowed to seat ourselves wherever we felt comfortable that night. We started out with appetizers: steamed mussels and antipasto. For the main meal, we got verlasso salmon and garlic prawns. For dessert we got mascarpone cheesecake.

The appetizers were very good to start off the night. The mussels tasted fresh and the sauce they were sauteed in was a spicy white wine butter sauce with tomato and basil. There was a lot of garlic at the bottom that gave a good flavor to the mussels. The sauce the mussels were sauteed in tasted very sweet despite how much garlic was in the sauce.  The serving amount was about twenty. The antipasto was a selection of charcuterie, assorted cheese, and vegetables. There were small red tomatoes that gave off a pop of color on the plate. The plating of this appetizer was in my opinion well put together and pleasing to the eye. When you add all the assortments,it gives a good flavor; it’s sweet, yet tangy.

The Poached Mussels and Antipasto

For the main meal, we got verlasso salmon and garlic prawns. The verlasso salmon was pan seared with sage fingerling potatoes, roasted squash, and piquillo.The salmon was very juicy; it wasn’t overcooked or undercooked. The potatoes had shredded squash on top of them, as well as the salmon, which gave them a sweet taste. The potatoes were well cooked and had a sour taste to them. All together, it was juicy and full of flavor.

To end off the night, we got a mascarpone cheesecake. It’s lighter than an original cheesecake, with a sweet honey sauce and roasted sugar almonds on top. On the bottom for a crust, there was a sugar cookie. This dessert was very sweet and ended the night off perfectly. The sugared almonds were good as a topping because it gave a good crunch along with the soft cheesecake. The honey tasted fresh and gave a good kick to the cheesecake.

I would definitely recommend going to Domenic’s because of the East Coast vibe it had. The food was fresh and had very good flavor. Our server Nate was very attentive but not overly so he checked in on how we were doing and made sure the food was very well prepared. I would more than likely go again to enjoy the food as well as the service.
