Sunflowers and Sundresses: Autumn coats

Sunflowers and Sundresses: Autumn coats

In this crisp, bone-chilling winter air in Colorado, it is a must to have a warm coat. If you’re anything like me, the big, poufy coats that make you look like that Michelin tire guy aren’t the most flattering. I opt for a more fashionable, yet toasty option. The popular colors for fall this year are deep, rich colors. If you want to stay classic with your coats, pick blacks, camels and grays. If you’re looking for a bold and fashion-forward jacket, look for plum, sunset orange and deep blue. No matter what coat you choose for this cozy autumn air, remember fashion matters, and so does warmth.

Trenches

Before you even think it, no I am not talking about the stereotypical, flasher trench coat. Trench coats are now sleek, slimming and stylish. My favorites are in the classic camel and black that can add the touch of fashion that you need to complete your outfit.

Military Inspired

Everything is military inspired lately, and I am sure I am not the only one totally loving it. Nothing is more perfect to add just the right amount of edge to any outfit. Throw a green coat over warm leggings and some fabulous riding boots and you’ll be turning heads for sure.

Pea coats

Pea coats are a classic that we just cannot ignore. The perfect wool coat will not only keep you warm, but instantly turn you into a fashionista.

North Face

Living in Colorado, North Face jackets are everywhere. I wear mine all of the time. Whether you just want a warm fleece (like mine) or a poufy coat, that I promise, won’t make you look huge, they are the brand to shop for. Whether you choose the classic black, or the deep purple I am in love with, you will look oh-so Colorado chic.

Stay beautiful, sunflowers.
