FRHS student wins second place in Martin Luther King Junior essay contest

On Jan 20, Fossil Ridge High School Junior Alexandria Johnson was awarded 2nd place in the 9th through 12th grade Martin Luther King Junior essay contest. The prompt was ‘Is the Dream Fulfilled?’ that students had to write their own ‘I Have a Dream’ speech. “My essay was about my own I have a dream speech about how I can’t wear certain things because it’s not me,” said Johnson. “Like if I wear sweats (they’ll) think I’m sloppy and lazy.”  Johnson received a framed certificate and a medal, and the winner was announced at the old Fort Collins High School.
