Senior Bucket List: The official 16

Dear fellow seniors,

It’s senior year, the most important and life altering 275 days of our lives; at least until this point. While we are slaving away on college and scholarship applications, we still need to get up and do things that will solidify this year as the most memorable one yet!

Knowing myself best, I’m more then aware that if I was allowed, I would wrap myself up in a duvet, turn on Netflix and hide in my room until the day of graduation. But that just isn’t an option. I have the option to wish this year away until 8 a.m. on May 21, 2016, or I can make the most of the time I have left in the life that will change in just under a year, and I choose the second option.

So here’s where things get exciting, there’s no better way to commit to making the most of a year and to fighting off the brain killer that is “Senioritis”, then to formulate a bucket list; which is exactly what I’ve done. It’s not just a normal run of the mill bucket list, it’s 16 crazy amazing adventures dedicated to graduating with the class of 2016.

Without further ado, my official  “Ultimate Class of 2016 Senior Bucket List”:

  1. Sky Dive (Yes for real, authentic jumping out of a plane craziness)
  2. Water Balloon Paint Fight
  3. Cemetery Hide ‘n Seek
  4. Commit to a school
  5. Prank War
  6. Weekend Road Trip Somewhere I’ve Never Been
  7. Go Apple Picking
  8. Visit the Four Corners
  9. Build a Perfect Snowman
  10. Chopped Cooking Competition
  11. Yoga at Red Rocks
  12. Hike to Hanging Lake
  13. Continuous Harry Potter Marathon (19 Hours, 38 minutes)
  14. Fire Lookout Camping (Squaw Mountain, Colo.)
  15. Create a Geocache
  16. Graduate

These are in no particular order (Besides the last one of course), but this post is the official challenge to myself to create this year, not just live it. I also challenge other seniors to make a list of 16 things to do before our last year here is over. The things on your lists don’t have to be big and extravagant, just invent things that will make you happy, adventure places you’ve never been before and commit to having the best year of your high school career!

I’ll be writing this column each time I cross off an item on my list. Good luck to me and to anyone else taking on the challenge of making lifelong memories! Let’s do this!
