Etched in Stone

Monica Jarosz

Monica Jarosz, Staff Writer

Monica Jarosz is a junior at Fossil Ridge High School. This is her first year writing for Etched in Stone, and she is excited to write and tell new stories. She is thrilled to write for the newspaper, even in the midst of COVID-19, and is looking forward to finding new ways to get involved with clubs and organizations during this confusing time.

Jarosz is involved in cross country and Science Olympiad, and is also excited to be a part of Key Club this year. She loves to write, and her favorite class at Fossil is Journalism. She enjoys the casual atmosphere of the class and loves working with the other staff members. Jarosz is also looking forward to participating in the National Honor Society this year.

Jarosz is originally from South Sioux City, Nebraska, but moved to Fort Collins when she was three years old. She doesn’t have a dog (but wants one, an australian shepherd to be exact) and has an older brother, Isaac, who is a senior at Fossil.

In her free time Jarosz enjoys calligraphy and wood burning, and also loves watching Friends. She also enjoys listening to music, and while she does not have any specific favorite artists, she loves country and christain music. She loves to volunteer with her youth group, and she has been on several mission trips, including trips to Minnesota, South Dakota, and Puerto Rico.

While Jarosz does not have specific plans for after high school, she would love to turn calligraphy or wood burning into a career. She would also love to pursue ministry or writing. Even though she does not have a plan for the future, she is looking forward to seeing what it will bring.

She likes to use running as a metaphor for life, you have to keep pushing, even when it gets rough and you want to give up. Jarosz is thrilled to be telling new stories and writing for Etched in Stone, and is excited to see what the future holds.
