The local field hockey team, the PSD Fire, made up of players from schools throughout Poudre School District, is almost midway through their season.
The team is 0-8 on the year, but as Olivia Stowell, goalie and senior from Fort Collins High School said, “One of our strengths is that we all work really hard in the games! Everybody gives it their all.”
The Field Hockey team has depth with 8 seniors, 3 of them being from Fossil Ridge High School. Which shows they have the mature leadership.
But team captain RJ Kuhn said they only have a few returning players and a high number of freshmen, who are just learning the sport.
The season is not over yet, and the field hockey team is showing late improvement with a close game against Mountain Vista which was lost by a score of 2-1. Senior Captain RJ Kuhn is optimistic in saying “I think we will continue to get better and be able to compete with other schools and be pretty good at the end of the season.”
