Lucy Corder, Lead of Photography
Lucy Corder is a senior at Fossil Ridge High School with a drive for storytelling. Finding the story within someone’s soul is what Corder hopes to explore as part of the staff at Etched in Stone. This way of storytelling in journalism helps shape Corder’s perspective of the world; it brings her awareness of the reality of people.
Somewhere in her future, Corder dreams of a townhouse of her own, with a small modernistic office that would turn orange as the sun sets; writing at her desk or couch, proud to call herself a published romance author. Stephen Chbosky is one of the authors she looks up to, admiring his wonderful writing talent and character complexity within his books; The Perks of Being a Wallflower is a close connection for Corder.
Corder has gone through hardships in her life, yet no matter the circumstance, her brother Liam Corder has always been her rock. “That’s something I really admire about both of us is that we can have those little bumps and issues here and there, but they’re never enough to just completely tear us apart.”
With plans of CU Boulder in her sights, Corder eagerly works to get to the light at the end of the tunnel, graduation. Until then, as Lead of Photography for Etched in Stone, Corder awaits the many opportunities before her in the very last semester of her high school experience.
