Bruna Horvath

Bruna Horvath, Staff Writer

Bruna Horvath, a senior, is starting her first year in Etched in Stone. By joining, she hopes to prove to herself that it is never too late to pursue new interests. Though it is her first year in journalism, Horvath has loved to read and write for the entirety of her existence. Some major goals she has this year is to practice more photography skills and to create meaningful projects.

Horvath was born in Goiânia, Brazil and moved to the United States when she was only three years old. Even though she has spent most of her life in America, she stays connected to her culture by visiting as often as she can. Being Latina is an aspect of Horvath’s identity that she holds very dear to her heart and has helped create her passion for language. From English classes to foreign language classes, Horvath hopes to continue to expand her communication capabilities.

Horvath’s home is made up of three major components, her mom, her dad, and her 14 year old Shih-Tzu, Lola. She doesn’t mind being the only child because she values her independence and has always thought of her dog as her parent’s favorite anyways.

In her free time, Horvath loves to hang out with her friends, create oddly specific Spotify playlists, check her horoscope, drink iced caramel lattes, and visit Barnes & Noble. However, the majority of Horvath’s time is spent with her extracurriculars. She stays involved at Fossil by helping organize events for National Honor Society and is a proud member of Chocolate Book Club. Horvath describes herself as “the type of person who likes to keep themselves busy.”

When it comes to music, Horvath loves it all. Some of her favorite artists are (but are not limited to) Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski, Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, and Lana Del Ray. She loves to constantly discover new artists and expand her music taste.

Horvath will continue to pursue writing by majoring in Journalism at New York University in the Fall. She is not sure what the future has in store for her, but she hopes to never stop writing.
