Etched in Stone

Addy Ehleiter

Addison Ehleiter is a junior at Fossil Ridge High School. This is her second year in Journalism, but her first year involved with Etched in Stone with the Journalism 2 class, which brings more of a direct bond with the paper with an opportunity to publish pieces. This year she hopes to improve her writing skills and hopefully cover sports and various aspects of the community.

Ehleiter is a part of the cross country and track teams at Fossil and has been throughout high school. She started both these sports in the fourth grade after she discovered her love for running. Her favorite high school class was an Anatomy course she attended last quarter which led her to discover a newfound interest in science. As athletics are a big part of her life, she plans to go to college and study these types of sciences in order to create a career in either physical therapy or sports training.

She is from Fort Collins and has two little brothers at ages 11 and 14. Alongside her energetic brothers, she has a very hyper chihuahua named Cooper. Since she grew up  near the mountains, she enjoys being active, hiking, biking, camping, paddle boarding and other nature related activities. She loves to travel, and has many places that she would like to visit, but her favorite place she has been has been Hawaii.

Online school for Ehleiter was described as “super boring,” since it “got old fast” for her. She does not like online school and would rather be in class, so she is happy about the transfer to hybrid learning. She is excited to go fully back to school whenever that is available for Fossil students.
