Field hockey started off on a rather quiet note for Fossil Ridge Saturday, August 29, at home vs. Grandview. The game was back and forth, and neither Fossil Ridge or Grandview could find the back of the net. Most of the first half consisted of physicality instead of scoring. After the 30 minute half had ended, each team took a 5 minute break to regenerate and regain energy.

Once the 2nd and final half began, the game’s intensity exponentially increased on both ends. The game’s pace increased, but Grandview had possession of the ball for a good amount of time. Less than half way through the half, Grandview put the ball past the PSD Fire goaltender for a 1-0 lead.

Grandview’s advantage on the field and on the scoreboard did not end. No more than 5 minutes later, Grandview doubled their advantage to 2-0. Fossil Ridge was tired out, and let in a third goal in the final minutes of the game. Your PSD Fire fell short, 3-0.
